The One
I am rather fond of the great Nobody
who knows the us of you and me,
who joins us to make the One we are.
I love the beautiful morning thoughts
you send air, light and lightness to start the day.
Your heart is there and here fluxing with and between
your heart which is here and there.
Bright, true, strong, pure with the tiniest molecules,
the largest universe within the clasped hands
of two who know the One we are.
Penelope Taylor's poetry has appeared in Literary Tonic,
California Quarterly, and various other journals and zines. Poetry is her
secret life. Formerly a teacher, she's now living at the bottom of the world,
on the edge of her dreams, running a new film production company called
StudioSulu with the man who inspired this poem.
