Word Hunger

Word Hunger, sponsored by Brick Street Poetry Inc.,  will engage community discussion on food production in several Indiana counties including:

These community discussions are an integral part of a literary art project.  Word Hunger is sponsored by Brick Street Poetry Inc. through grants  from the Indiana Humanities Council ,with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Indiana Arts Commission.  This project was part of the 2010 Spirit & Place Festival on November 14, 2010.

Poetry on Brick Street

 

Poetry on Brick Street will present Kevin McKelvey as the featured poet and speaker at 6:30 pm Thursday February 2. 2012 in the cellar room at G. Simone’s Café (112C South Main Street in downtown Zionsville, Indiana).

                        

Featured Poet:    Kevin McKelvey

 

mckelvey.jpgKevin McKelvey is a poet and essayist and teaches writing, editing, and publishing at the University of Indianapolis.   His chapbook, Dream Wilderness, is part of a book-length sequence inspired by the Charles C. Deam Wilderness Area in Indiana.

 

The Indiana Arts Commission recently awarded him a grant to write poems about Indiana's Wabash River. He lives with his wife and two children in Indianapolis in a house built in 1890.

 

 

An Open “mic” for poets will follow the featured speaker.
